Rieveley Ceramics has been involved in a number of projects which required the restoration of wall tiling. It is often a requirement in the restoration of listed buildings that original tiling is retained.
As well as conserving the tiles in situ, our manufacturing facility allows us to make replica tiling where original tiles are missing or damaged. A number of different manufacturing and decorating techniques are available so that a reproduction can be made in a similar way as the original, to ensure a close match.
We started in 1978 manufacturing ceramics and since that time have built up a comprehensive knowledge of the techniques used in the different methods of tile making. We were approached by the Faenol Estate to provide replicas of 19th century tiling for a restoration project and following its successful completion further enquiries followed. In 1998 we discontinued our general manufacturing to concentrate on tiling restoration and conservation.
